Rebecca Diedrich, a beloved resident of Beckley, WV, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. She was 87 years old.


Who was Rebecca Diedrich?

Rebecca was born on August 10, 1936, in Richwood, Ohio, to Bill and Kit Morrison. Rebecca’s life was marked by a dedication to education and service. She embarked on a fulfilling career as a school teacher, inspiring students across the country throughout her tenure. After a lifetime of enriching young minds, she made the decision to retire in 2002.

Beyond the confines of the classroom, Rebecca was a woman of many talents and interests. She found joy in various creative pursuits, including sewing, woodcarving, writing, and painting. These artistic endeavours likely served as an outlet for her creativity and a source of relaxation.

Rebecca held a deep faith in the Baptist religion. She was a founding member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Union County in her home state of Ohio. Her dedication to mental health advocacy extended further as she served for several years on the Board of Directors for the NAMI chapter of the entire state.

Memorial Service

A memorial service will be held to honor her life on Friday, March 29th, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Sunset Cemetery, located at 6959 West Broad St., Galloway, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to NAMI of Ohio in Rebecca’s memory.
