How did Brooklyn Gridley die?
A devastating car accident occurred on the eastbound lanes of STH 16, resulting in the death of one driver and leaving the other in critical condition. According to witnesses, one of the vehicles involved was traveling in the wrong direction, which caused the two cars to collide head-on in the eastbound lanes of traffic. The driver of the wrong-way vehicle, a 47-year-old female from Sullivan, was alone in the car and was transported to Aurora Summit Medical Center via ambulance, where she is currently in critical condition.
The other driver, Gridley, was extracted from her vehicle and transported by Flight for Life helicopter to Aurora Summit Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead due to injuries sustained in the crash.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Village of Chenequa Police Department and the Waukesha County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Wisconsin State Patrol has been asked to assist in reconstructing the accident. As of now, no formal charges have been issued, and the entire community is left grieving for the loss of Gridley while hoping for the speedy recovery of the other driver involved.
