In a devastating incident that unfolded on Monday afternoon, Omaha Police have confirmed the identities of the two individuals involved in an apparent murder-suicide. The victims, Alexandria Mitchell, 25, and Nicholas Page, 29, were discovered lifeless at an Aksarben-area apartment complex.

The Incident:

The incident unfolded around S. 70th and Oak Streets, where officers responded to a potential domestic disturbance at an apartment complex just before noon. The officers, after reaching the reported apartment, knocked on the door and identified themselves as police. Soon after, two gunshots were heard from inside the apartment. Upon entering, the officers discovered the lifeless bodies of a man and a woman, both with what seemed to be gunshot wounds. A handgun was found nearby. The investigation is now underway to understand the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.

Who was Alexandria Mitchell?

Alexandria Mitchell, a resident of Omaha, Nebraska, held a prominent position as the head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at Medical Solutions Staffing and Recruiting. Known for her dedication and loyalty, Mitchell was a celebrated graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Bellevue University, and Westside High School. Adding to her accomplishments, she recently earned a certification in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for HR from Cornell University.

The Omaha Police Department, led by Lieutenant Neal Bonacci, is actively pursuing investigations into this heartbreaking incident. As of now, details surrounding the motives behind the tragedy remain unclear, and law enforcement continues to piece together the events leading to the murder-suicide.
