On the morning of Monday, July 24th, 2023, a devastating event unfolded at a home on Wilsonburg Road in Clarksburg, West Virginia, around 7:30 a.m. According to the sheriff’s report, deputies swiftly responded to the distressing situation. The investigation later revealed that a person, whose age was not disclosed, took the tragic step of shooting and ending the life of his own 10-year-old son before turning the gun on himself. At the time of the incident, the two involved individuals were the only ones present in the house. Sheriff Matheny assured that there is no indication of anyone else being involved in this heart-wrenching occurrence.
