The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries via Ornge Air Ambulance. While the youth suspect has been identified, they have not yet been located.

Following the incident, there was a heavy police presence reported in the area, and three other schools were placed on hold and secure as a precaution. A 17-year-old male student from Georgetown District High School (GDHS) has been arrested in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred at the school. The suspect is facing charges of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The lockdown and hold that were put in place have since been lifted. The young offender was held in custody pending a bail hearing, and his name was not released due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
