The Omaha Police Department received a report from the driver’s iPhone, which dialed 911 at approximately 12:30 a.m. to report the collision that occurred close to the intersection of Meadows Road and Park Drive. Responding officers arrived at the scene and found a 2011 Mazda 6 that had collided with a tree. Sadly, Shane Foote, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was found in a critical condition and was rushed to the hospital, but later passed away due to his injuries. The Omaha Police Department has stated that excessive speed and the failure to use a seatbelt may have contributed to the accident.
