Rachel McBrine

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Rachel McBrine, a vibrant 22-year-old who left this world on February 13th. Her sudden and unexpected death has left many in shock and mourning, as she was loved and cherished by all who knew her. Despite her young age, Rachel had a positive impact on the lives of those around her, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Who was Rachel McBrine?

Rachel Elizabeth McBrine was born in Providence, Rhode Island on March 16, 2000. She spent her early years in Canton, Massachusetts before relocating with her family to Holbrook, Massachusetts in October of 2001. From a young age, Rachel was known for her bright and imaginative personality. She enjoyed coloring and writing stories about the characters she created.

As she entered high school, Rachel’s interests began to shift towards science, and it became clear that she was passionate about pursuing a career in this field. She graduated from Holbrook Middle-Senior High School in 2018 and was named valedictorian. Rachel received the Daron Jean Baptiste Memorial Scholarship and an academic scholarship to attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Biotechnology in May of 2022. Recently, Rachel had begun her professional career as a lab assistant at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, where she was excited to be working towards her dream of obtaining a PhD and eventually running her own research laboratory.

In her free time, Rachel enjoyed cooking, with a particular fondness for Asian cuisine. She was also an avid reader, music enthusiast, and a talented crocheter who could transform a simple picture into a work of art. Rachel will be remembered for her bright personality, her passion for science, and her many creative pursuits.

Rachel McBrine died: What was her Cause of death?

The cause of her untimely death is currently unknown. Rachel was a person who deeply cherished her friends and family. She was a wonderful friend who always put her loved ones first, and her ability to find the perfect gifts for her friends was something she took great pride in. Rachel was a bright and caring individual who had a contagious smile and a positive outlook on life.

Her sudden absence has left a void in the lives of those who knew and loved her. Rachel is survived by her parents, Karen and Bob McBrine, her brother, Aaron McBrine, her partner, Nathan Draudt, her grandmother, Elaine Hopkins, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. The memories of Rachel will be cherished by all who knew her, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Obituary and Funeral Arrangements

The funeral arrangements for the late individual will take place at the Hurley Currie Funeral Home, located on 127 South Franklin Street (Route 37) in Holbrook. The funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, February 21st at 10:15 am, followed by a funeral mass at St. Joseph Church on 153 South Franklin Street in Holbrook at 11:00 am. Family members, friends, and acquaintances of the deceased are cordially invited to attend the service. Prior to the funeral, there will be a visitation on Monday, February 20th, from 4-7 pm. The final resting place for the departed will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, which is located at 245 North Street in Randolph.
