Tragedy has struck the University of Wyoming’s Track and Field team as they mourn the untimely loss of one of their own. Nathan Reid, a dedicated and talented student-athlete, tragically passed away in a car accident near Douglas, Wyoming. This devastating incident has left the university community in shock and grief.

Who was Nathan Reid ?

Nathan Reid was a talented and beloved senior student-athlete hailing from Kingston, Jamaica. He achieved Honorable Mention All-America recognition during the 2021-22 season by securing the 23rd position in the discus event at the NCAA Championships. Nathan’s parents, Dalton and Icolin Reid, must have been incredibly proud of his accomplishments. Tragically, Nathan’s bright future was cut short, as he would have started his senior season at the University of Wyoming in the fall of 2023. At the university, he passionately competed in discus and shot put for the Cowboys, while also majoring in mechanical engineering.

Nathan Reid Accident: How It Happened?

Nathan Reid, a talented student-athlete from Kingston, Jamaica, tragically lost his life in a car accident on U.S. Highway 18/20 near Orin Junction and south of Douglas, Wyoming. The accident occurred on Monday morning, July 24, and Reid was found at the crash site. As of now, there are limited details about the accident, but it seems to have been a single-car incident. Road construction workers made the discovery in the early morning of that fateful day. The exact time of the accident is yet to be determined, leaving the university community devastated by the loss of a bright and promising young athlete and student.
