Micah McAfoose Car Accident: How it Happened
Yesterday’s fatal car and 18 wheeler accident in Corrigan has tragically taken the life of Micah Alan Mcafoose, an eighteen year old from Cypress, according to reports. At 1:32 pm on January 2023, Antonio Sandoval Jr., 68, of Diboll, pulled his 18 wheeler onto US-59 from Plant Road without seeming to yield to the approaching black Nissan Versa driven by Mcafoose. The car drove into the underside of the trailer portion of the truck and was killed instantly while his passenger Graylan Paul Spring, 19 of Austin was severely injured and is still being cared for in a hospital.
The Corrigan Police Department released a statement about the fatal crash that occurred on January 20, 2023 at approximately 1:32pm. A Nissan Versa was traveling southbound on Highway 59 when it was struck by an 18-wheeler that was turning left onto the highway from Plant Road. Unfortunately, the driver of the car, Micah Mcafoose, did not survive the crash; however, the passenger of his vehicle, Graylan Spring, is being treated at HCA Conroe and is in critical condition. Although this accident is still under investigation, reports suggest that the driver of the 18-wheeler had no injuries. It is heartbreaking to hear stories like this and our thoughts are with both families involved in this tragic incident.
