Maryellen Barry die

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Maryellen Barry Franklin, MA, on August 2, 2023, at the age of 72. A pillar of love, dedication, and devotion, she leaves behind a legacy as a remarkable mother to her seven cherished children.

Who Was Maryellen Barry?

Mary Ellen was really dedicated to helping a group called Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) and another group called the Police Unity Tour. She had seven kids who she loved a lot. She was very strong and didn’t give up even when things were tough. Her husband, Trooper Paul Barry, who worked as a police officer in Massachusetts, died while on duty. This made her really sad, but instead of giving up, she became a big supporter of groups that help families of police officers who passed away.

One of the groups she helped, COPS, gave support to families who lost a loved one while they were working as police. Mary Ellen worked really hard to give these families both emotional support and money when they needed it. She knew how it felt because she went through the same thing when her husband died. She cared a lot about these families and always wanted to help.

Mary Ellen also liked the Police Unity Tour a lot. It’s a special bike ride that happens every year to remember police officers who died in the line of duty. The ride also raises money for groups that help police. Mary Ellen thought it was really important to honor the police officers who were very brave and lost their lives while keeping their communities safe. Taking part in the Police Unity Tour helped her remember her husband and support other people who were going through similar sad times.

One of Mary Ellen’s kids, Nick, was loved by a group called Chapter IX. They were all part of the Police Unity Tour. Nick was not only her son but also a member of the police family. When he turned 18, Mary Ellen was really happy to see him join the Police Unity Tour, just like his dad did when he was alive.
