The family and friends of Lee-James Cupido are mourning his death after he passed away last night, January 16, 2023. This incredible man was WAKS’s (Wellington’s Finest Entrepreneur) and was passionate about his community’s success. He worked at Bergrivier Secondary School before launching LJC Customs in 2018, which he ran until his death. He had bravely fought cancer for years, but eventually triumphed, inspiring many during and after his life.
WAKS mourned him in a post made today, honoring the way that Lee-James Cupido “quietly and powerfully impacted the lives of many” during his short time here with us. His memory lives on through the rippling effect of the influence that he cast upon so many; a tribute to Lee-James Cupido we will never forget.
How did Lee James Cupido die? What was his Cause of death?
Lee-James Cupido was only 16 years old when he was diagnosed with cancer, but his bravery in enduring the treatment and carrying on with his school studies, as well as rugby, is truly inspirational. After being prescribed eight cycles of chemotherapy over five days each, he could have felt overwhelmed, but instead he chose to make rugby his lighthouse. It kept him going during those tough days, even if he felt extremely sick and exhausted after the chemo treatments. In a recent interview in 2022, Lee-James said that it wasn’t the cancer but managing all these aspects at once that was the challenge, and we can be grateful for his determination and perseverance that got him through.
Lee-James Cupido, from Wellington in the Western Cape, was a student at both the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and Hugenote Horskool. Unfortunately, he has passed away due to a long battle with cancer. His family is being comforted with offers of deep sympathy and words of condolence. His wife, Mashé Cupido, cherished him dearly and will be deeply hurt by his untimely loss.

The knowledge he got from there certainly paid off; with their help, he was able to increase his company’s revenue by an unbelievable 1866 percent!
