Tragically, he lost his life in a car crash on July 26, 2023, and was taken to Akron City Hospital, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries. Who Was Griffin Belden?

Griffin Anderson Belden was born on March 29, 2002, in Akron to parents Garth Belden and Mindy Niehaus. He completed his education at Theodore Roosevelt High School in 2020 and then pursued Computer Science at Kent State University. Griffin was an adventurous soul who never turned down an opportunity for a road trip or a vacation. He was an excellent co-pilot and loved visiting places like Walt Disney World and going on cruises. At Cedar Point, he enjoyed riding the thrilling Millennium Force roller coaster. When at home, Griffin was passionate about playing video games and cherished spending time chatting with his loved ones. His family and friends admired his sense of humor, calm nature, and ability to handle any situation with ease.

Griffin Belden Accident: How It Happend?

On a Wednesday morning at 8:16, a tragic accident took place near SR 303 and Kirby Lane involving 21-year-old Griffin Belden from Kent. Griffin was driving his 2013 Kia in the eastbound direction on SR 303 when he veered left across the center and collided with a semi tractor-trailer traveling westbound. The impact caused Griffin’s Kia to leave the road’s south side and catch fire. Fortunately, a Good Samaritan with a fire extinguisher arrived and managed to put out the flames before they reached Griffin. However, he had to be rescued from the wreckage by the Streetsboro Fire Department and was rushed to Akron City Hospital with serious injuries. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, Griffin sadly passed away later at the hospital.

The semi’s driver, a 61-year-old man from Cleveland, tried to avoid the collision but couldn’t respond quickly enough. As a result, the semi veered off the road’s north side, partially overturning and colliding with a telephone pole. This caused a power outage and a minor diesel spill. Currently, the authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine its cause.

Obituary And Funeral Arrangements

There will be a calling hour to remember Griffin on Monday, August 7, 2023, from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, located at 628 W. Main St., Kent. The following day, Tuesday, August 8th, at 11:00 A.M., a graveside service will take place at Grandview Memorial Park. During the service, friends and family will have the opportunity to share cherished memories and stories of Griffin, honoring his life and the moments they shared with him.
