The Gynecologic Oncology world has lost one of its greatest champions in the passing of Dr. Mack Barnes. I have had the honor of working along side of him to care for his patients at Brookwood Baptist on Women’s Care Unit over the past 4 years. His compassionate bedside manner was as impeccable as his surgical expertise. He also respected and cherished the nurses and staff who cared for his patients. And he loved the Lord. He was everything a physician should be and has forever left an impact on my life and my work as a nurse.
My heart is heavy for his family and his amazing partner, Dr. Monjri Shah, as she carries their practice forward.
