How did Devin Lark Die?
The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was dispatched on Friday at 2:30 p.m. to serve an arrest warrant on Devin C. Lark, who was wanted on multiple felony warrants. Upon arriving, Lark fled from the officers and was pursued by the deputies from the Sheriff’s Office. When the deputies tried to take him into custody, Lark produced a handgun and refused to drop it despite being ordered to do so by a deputy. The unnamed deputy then fired a single shot, striking Lark. Despite the provision of immediate medical attention and CPR, Lark was pronounced dead soon after arriving at St. Vincent-Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.
During the incident involving the shooting of Devin Lark, a second adult male was present at the scene.
