On Saturday, the police dive team recovered his body from the water after a passerby reported seeing a backpack beside a hole in the ice near the East River Trail’s footbridge in the 1400 block of E. Walnut Street. While the initial investigation does not suggest foul play, the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office will be performing an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
