His passion for serving the community led him to volunteer with the Cedar Bluff Auxiliary Police Unit from 2005 to 2007 before pursuing further education at Southwest Virginia Community College.

In 2008, Ben’s dedication to public service reached new heights as he graduated with honors from the 114th class of the Virginia State Police in Richmond. Embarking on his law enforcement journey, he was assigned to Louisa County, where he embraced the challenges with determination and success.

Ben’s unwavering commitment to protecting and serving others led him through fifteen years of service as a Virginia State Police Trooper, during which he became a respected MedFlight Pilot, leaving a lasting impact on his many friends, neighbors, and fellow citizens.
