Aimee Cardoso Died In An Accident: How Did It Happen?

Aimee Cardoso and her husband, Lucas, tragically lost their lives on Friday in a car accident. The accident happened on Interstate 35. At the moment, the exact cause of the accident is not yet known. “The staff and docents at the Modern mourn the loss of Aimee Cardoso and her husband Lucas. Aimee was a beloved and respected member of the Modern’s staff for many years, serving the museum as Tour and Docent Administrator. She began as a gallery and information desk attendant and worked on our exhibition installation team as well.

A trusted colleague and a good friend to many, we will miss her bright smile, amazing energy, and genuine kindness. Our thoughts are with their families and friends during this very difficult time.”

Mariana Persia explained, “Hello, our Brazilian community is feeling very sad because we lost two young men from two wonderful families and a daughter-in-law. One of the families already started a GoFundMe, and now our community is reaching out again to ask for your help for Celia Cardoso. Celinha is a dear friend and a really kind person. She’s active in our community with her business. Something very sad happened on Friday, August 25th—there was a terrible accident in her family. Lucas and Aimee, who were married, passed away in a car crash. Lucas was Celinha’s oldest son.”
